Clusentinus
A little jewel set among the sweetness of tuscan landscapes, put there by a divine hand. An enchanted valley, home to great artists and poets who have travelled through it, leaving their essence trapped there. A land of pitched battles, of an heard judgments, of latent legends that echo in the wind that caresses it everyday. A small floating oasis, of which nature is a loving mother. We are part of all this, of a territory rich in history and culture: the Casentino. A dimension that invites you to take your time to discover it, get to know it and live it, immersing yourself among its infinite scenic beauty, among its precious hermitages and ancient villages, among its parish churches and castles. A heritage traversed by an incessant dialogue between the eternity of the past and the present moment, with ancient traditions representing the beating heart of the two temporal hemispheres.
Our history
In the midst of such wonder lies the history of Palazzo Gatteschi, which begins in 1763, a date that can still be seen inscribed on the fireplace of the great hall situated on a floor that is used by the nobility. It was at that time, that the Gatteschi family, originating from the noble branch of Pistoia and Florence, took possession of the Palace, electing it as their main residence.
The residence, first belonged to the Soldani family, who were nobles from Poppi, then became the property of the Gatteschi family, thanks to a marriage between two exponents of the respective families, signing the passage from the first to the second noble lineage.
The Gatteschi lineage is a story that continues in time, populated by strong and fascinating women; of curious and eccentric characters; of passionate love affairs; of illustrious ties typical of that age. A dynasty, however, traversed by a leitmotif : a love for the countryside and a genuine lifestyle, a tradition that has remained unaltered through the centuries, up to the present day.
Recently, the Palace has undergone intricate restoration works, characterized by comfort and modernity, to give you the opportunity to admire its beauty and appreciate the joy it has brought to our family over the years without forgetting, however, what has been the life of the people and objects that have inhabited it over time.
As if among those glimpses, centuries later, history continuous to flow inexorably and, through the reflexion of those who have been its protagonists, that intimate and authentic atmosphere emerges, that crossroads of carrying values to which the Palace, to this day, still tries to emanate. Those same virtues immortalized starting with the family coat of arms, which dominates its walls and depicts a cat with a rampant tail: a symbol of independence, vigilance and dexterity.
